A very full fall

It’s shaping up to be a busy fall for Standard BioTools™, with plenty of conferences on our schedule. Here are some regional events we’re excited about attending.

GLIIFCA

The Great Lakes International Imaging and Flow Cytometry Association’s 2022 meeting was held September 16–18 in Indianapolis, IN. GLIIFCA’s aim is to provide a forum that explores how flow and image cytometry can be used to advance research and diagnostic testing applications. Field Application Specialist Vinicius Motta gave a tech talk on September 17 on Expansion Panels for the Maxpar® Direct™ Immune Profiling Assay™ and discussed the results of using a 47-parameter panel to investigate cell activation.

WACD

The Western Association of Core Directors’ 2022 conference took place in Los Angeles, CA, from September 21–22, and we were excited to be a Platinum Sponsor. The WACD aims to create a regional group of professionals from research-focused institutions who share an interest in the development, operation and advancement of high-throughput technologies and services. We presented at a Core Technologies plenary session on September 21, where Zach Farrow, Senior Field Applications Specialist, gave a 30-minute talk on our microfluidics RNA-seq and NGS library prep solutions.

NERLSCD

We will be in Rochester, NY, from October 12–14 for the Northeast Regional Laboratory Staff & Core Directors’ 2022 meeting. The conference will bring together core facility staff to learn about biotechnology advances and applications, discuss challenges and share success stories. We’re looking forward to seeing you at our pre-meeting workshop, hosted by Luke Stewart and Vinicius Motta, on October 12. We’re also thrilled to be giving a Platinum Sponsor talk on October 14.

Plant Genomics & Gene Editing Congress USA

The Plant Genomics & Gene Editing Congress USA will explore strategies and developments in plant genomics and gene editing; in addition, leaders from academia and industry will consider key developments in gene-editing technologies such as CRISPR/Cas9 and TALEN and discuss their application in improving disease resistance, stress tolerance and crop yield. We will be presenting a talk on October 24, so be sure to stop by.
